Terms & Conditions
1. Using the app
By downloading or using Barking Dog you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. Information only, not safety advice
Barking Dog shows river flow estimates and a release schedule for general information. Rivers are dangerous and conditions change quickly. The app is not a substitute for scouting, experience, proper gear and your own judgment. You are solely responsible for your decisions on and around the water.
3. Data may be wrong or late
Flow data comes from third-party sources, including the California Data Exchange Center (CDEC), and may be delayed, estimated, incomplete or incorrect. The "estimated flow" at Barking Dog is a calculation based on an earlier Chili Bar reading and a rough travel time; it is not a measurement taken at Barking Dog.
The release calendar shows the minimum scheduled recreational releases under the Chili Bar hydropower license for the current water year type. Actual releases may be higher, lower, cancelled or changed without notice, including for emergencies and equipment problems. The water year type used by the app may be out of date.
4. No affiliation
Barking Dog is an independent app. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by PG&E, CDEC, the State of California, DreamFlows or any other data provider. Names and links to third parties belong to their owners and are provided for convenience.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, availability or fitness for a particular purpose.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer isn't liable for any injury, loss, damage or expense arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app or its data, including any trip you make or don't make because of it.
7. Changes
We may update the app or these terms at any time. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. The date above shows when they were last changed.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
